Worship at the Seattle conference takes its cue from the prayer of the day: “Glorious God, your generosity waters the world with goodness, and you cover creation with abundance.” The deep patterns of Christian worship—renewal in baptism, proclamation in word and music, praying at day’s opening and close, feasting around the Lord’s table—come to expression in a variety of ways with a breadth of resources. Two Lutheran congregations extend their welcome at the opening and close of the conference. In between, St. Mark’s Episcopal and St. James Roman Catholic cathedrals open their doors to us for prayer and song. Several inviting locations on the Seattle University campus house daily prayer. From new music for flute and organ to Chinese violin, from the young voices of the Northwest Girlchoir to a festival choir, from the intimate strains of the harp to the sounding of bells and brass, musical leadership in worship will surround and propel the voice of the assembly in song. Amid the challenges and joys of our vocations, we are invited in worship to be satisfied with God’s abundance, and we are sent with this food to a hungry world.
If you will be in Seattle on a Sunday morning, you may wish to worship at an area church.
