Conference registrants need to make their own housing arrangements. We recommend:
Seattle University
This housing need-to-know document will help you as you make lodging arrangements, especially at Seattle University. It contains helpful information for those traveling with families, including instructions on how to receive a discounted rate for children under the age of 12. All SU housing is available on a package basis, with housing and four meals included (breakfasts on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and lunch on Tuesday.)
Housing rates vary from $32.50 to $61.75 per person per night in residence hall or residence suite. Apartments must be rented for a minimum of one week, starting at $369.30 for a studio. The meals are charged at $7.50 for breakfasts and $10.25 for lunch in the Cherry Street Market.
Housing is available in three types of campus residences:
1. Apartments (private or shared room) with bathroom.
2. Deluxe Residence Hall Rooms (private or shared suite) with bathroom.
3. Standard Residence Hall Rooms (private or shared room) with shared bathroom down the hall, vanity and
sink in each bedroom.
Parking on campus is always free to persons staying on campus.
All accommodations include:
- Parking (at no charge); complimentary local telephone service; and high-speed internet access.
- Twin beds that will be made up for your arrival, complete with chocolates on the pillows. Towels and washcloths are also provided.
- A meal package for dining on campus at the Cherry Street Market. Meals are served "market" style, where guests may choose from various entrees, side dishes, salads, desserts and beverages. Vegetarian options are always available; special requests (such as vegan or wheat-free) are available with advance request.
-Computers which are available for checking e-mail. Or you may bring your own computer and access the network at no charge.
-Front desk service for Residence Halls and Suites from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. every day.

If booked by July 7, 2011 we have the following guaranteed rates:
Single/Double Occuprancy $149.00
Triple Occupancy: $179.00
Quad Occupancy: $199.00
Additional Person: $20.00
Applicable state and local taxes will also be charged.
Booking online is possible for the dates July 30 through the night of August 3 (checkout August 4.)
The hotel will honor these rates three days before and after, but only subject to availability. As of early February, we know that only a few rooms are still available July 27-29. If you wish to extend your stay before or after the conference, we suggest calling instead of using the web site to book your room.
Transportation is required to get from the Red Lion Hotel to Seattle University. An ALCM Conference shuttle between the hotel and campus will be available during certain hours for a fee. See registration sign-up page for more information. Hotel parking is an option, as space is available, at the prevailing rate.
Seattle Transportation
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) or "Sea-Tac" as the locals refer to it, is the major airport which serves the city of Seattle. Click here for information on transportation options from the airport. Note that Light Rail ($2.50) drops off 2.5 blocks from the Red Lion at Westlake Center and is a 45 minute ride. During the conference, bus transportation will be offered for a fee. See the registration form for rates.
The regular bus pass will transport registrants:
Sunday: SU > Phinney Ridge > St. Mark's > SU/Hotel
Monday: SU > St James > SU (for those with mobility hardships)
Tuesday: SU > Space Needle > Hotel > SU (continuous circuit between 5:30p and 10:00p)
Wednesday: SU > Bastyr Chapel > Trinity, Lynnwood, > SU
The hotel bus pass will transport registrants at the beginning of each day (Sunday through Wednesday) from the Red Lion Hotel > SU and at the end of the day on Monday and Wednesday from SU > Red Lion Hotel. Sunday and Tuesday evenings are covered by teh regular bus pass. Everyone staying at the Red Lion will need both bus passes unless they have a car.
