- Do you enjoy playing the piano? Are you good at accompanying a choir? Do you like working with people to develop their God-given gifts of music? Can you support volunteers as they learn new things?
Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha (61st and Western) seeks energetic, out-going, confident musician to assist the music ministry. Primary duties include accompanying the Luther Memorial Choir and assisting with playing for worship services. The Music Ministry Assistant will also assist the Hand bell Choir and Junior Bell Choir with set up, playing parts when needed, and teaching parts. Ministry musicians possess varying levels of musical skill and ability and are unified in faith and a passion for music, as well as assisting in leading the worship experience for the 8:45 AM Classic and 11:00 AM Spirit Alive Services. Rehearsals are generally held on Wednesday evenings and worship services are generally held on Sunday mornings.
Experience in accompanying and church music is preferred. The ability to sightread and be flexible is highly desirable. Musical training as well as strong interpersonal skills are required. Preference will be given to individuals who have proven themselves in accompany choirs, have or are currently studying music, and who play the organ.
