Music is an integral part of the life of this congregation. Under the leadership of the congregations pastor, the Organist exercises and important ministry which reaches out to the staff, choir members, all members of the congregation and the community.
As a musician, the organist will be diligent in preparation and performance, and will cooperate with others to provide and enable the highest possible standard of worship in this congregation. Annual salary will reflect organists experience and will start at $25,000.
The organist will be responsible for:
Working in conjunction with the pastor to select hymns
Providing music at:
9:00 and 10:30 Sunday Services from September through June (9:30 Sunday Service in July and August)
7:30 Monday evening Service
Confirmation Class on Wednesday evenings (approximately 24 classes per year - One 10 minute worship Services
Provide music for the following additional Services:
Wednesday evenings during Advent
Christmas Eve (4 Services)
Christmas Day
New Year�??s Eve
Epiphany
Ash Wednesday (1 morning, 1 evening)
Lenten Wednesdays (5) (morning and evening)
Maundy Thursday (1 morning, 1 evening)
Good Friday (1 morning, 1 evening)
Holy Saturday (1 evening)
Easter (3 Services)
Ascension Day
All Saint�??s Day
Thanksgiving Eve and Day
Ecumenical Thanksgiving Day Service (Monday before Thanksgiving)
Weddings and Funerals will be payed separately from annual salary
The leadership of the following ensembles
Adult Vocal Choir (Wednesday night 8:00)
Youth Vocal Choir (Wednesday night 5:45-6:30)
Children�??s Vocal Choir (Thursday night 6:45-7:30)
Children�??s Bell Choir (Monday night 6:30-7:00)
The organist is also responsible for a 4-performance concert series each year.
