- OBJECTIVE:
To employ a minister of music for a multicultural, multi-generational church. Must have proven and demonstrated ability to play all genres of music, i.e. contemporary gospel, spirituals, classical, anthems, etc., as well as proven and demonstrated ability and experience with pipe and electronic organ and piano. Strong knowledge and experience in church music required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
�?� Provide music for Sunday morning worship beginning at 10:30 a.m.
�?� Conduct and rehearse the adult chancel choir for a weekly Wednesday evening rehearsal in preparation for Sunday morning service September through June
�?� Develop additional choral and/or instrumental groups, i.e. handbell choir
�?� Provide supervision of children and youth choir if applicable
�?� Provide special choral presentations during Advent, Lent and other occasions
�?� Exercise right of first refusal for all special services (e.g. weddings, funerals), for which standard honoraria will be provided
�?� Supervise maintenance of a 2 manual Allen organ and pianos with semi-annual tuning, etc.
�?� Responsible for recruiting additional members for the choir
�?� Work closely with the Pastor
�?� Maintain music library, attend workshops/seminars and stay current with music trends
QUALIFICATIONS
�?� At least three (3) years experience in choral conducting or equivalent desired
�?� Experienced accompanist for worship services
�?� Ability to energize, motivate, challenge and stretch both the choir and congregation
�?� Willingness to participate in the musical life of the congregation
