Martin Luther Chapel at Michigan State University seeks a part-time organist beginning Summer or Fall 2010 to lead its Sunday morning service while offering leadership to the overall music program. Located one block from campus, this thriving faith community integrates university students and Lansing-area residents in three distinct weekly worship services. www.martinlutherchapel.org
Duties of the Organist include: leading hymns and liturgy in weekly Sunday morning services, preparing preludes and postludes for worship, and serving as accompanist for the Chapel Choir and parishioners sharing special music, Possible additional contracted duties include: encouraging and organizing special music shared by parishioners, and collaborating on worship planning with musical and pastoral staff.
The Chapel also currently seeks a part-time choral director offering the possibility for a joint position to organists who possess the skills to lead the Chapel Choir and Men�??s Chorus in weekly Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday morning worship.
