Looking for a motivated individual to provide music leadership for our worship life
Duties to include:
�?� 10-12 hours per week including Sunday worship services 9am & 11am(Sept �?? June)
Summer worship Sunday 9:30am and Saturday evening service 5:30pm.
�?� Weekly Adult Choir rehearsals (Sept - June).
�?� Available for Church Holy days, weddings & funerals.
�?� Coordinate & direct anthems for Adult Choir

Organist / Choir Director Job Description
�?� Provide musical leadership for Lutheran liturgical worship service including the use of the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) hymnal.
�?� Select and provide music for all Sunday morning services and Saturday evening services (summer) and other season services of the church such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Easter and Ascension Day.
�?� Accompany and Direct the Adult Choir at one mid-week rehearsal and Sunday morning (September �?? June)
�?� Work cooperatively with Worship & Music Committee and Pastor to choose seasonal music. The Adult Choir Director will be directly responsible to the Pastor and participate with the Worship and Music Committee in developing short and long range plans and annual budget requirements. Responsible for purchasing all music and supplies for the Adult Choir, limiting the expenditures to the amount provided in the church budget.
�?� Provide organ music for weddings and funerals held at the church, consulting with wedding couples or families if requested. For these services the organist will receive an additional fee as specified by church policy.
�?� Prepare an annual report detailing the current condition of the organ and / or pianos and specifying the necessary and recommended maintenance.
�?� Actively recruit new members to the Adult Choir, providing an atmosphere of musical learning, growth and mutual care. Planning for and developing of additional choirs as outlined in the congregational long-range plan.
Skills and Qualifications:
�?� Knowledge of the Allen Quantum 3-Manual Electronic Organ and keyboard ability sufficient to play hymns, liturgy and easy anthem accompaniment at sight.
�?� Knowledge of basic music theory, including simple transposition or harmonizing a melody.
�?� Ability to sing and play with accurate pitch and rhythm. Experience in Choral Conducting a plus.
�?� Knowledge of the Lutheran Church, matching appropriate music with the themes of the Church Year.
�?� Experience as a team player and ability to relate to others with good interpersonal skills.
