- Description
- Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Worship Leader/Piano/Keyboard for Saturday Blended service and/or Sunday Blended Services which includes Praise Team and future Praise Band (Sat).
2. Includes weekly pre-service music selection, weekly rehearsal of band and singers, and close collaboration with the pastors and Director of Music to create a welcoming, blended worship service drawing from a diversity of current contemporary Christian musical styles and Lutheran liturgy.
3. Praise Team Rehearsal, *Saturday-4 p.m.,
*Sunday-8:15 a.m.
*Mid-week rehearsal
for Sunday morning service.
4. Play piano for seasonal services, i.e. Christmas Eve (2), Ash Wednesday (Noon Service, Maundy Thursday (Noon Service) Good Friday (Noon Service), Easter Sunrise.
5. Help with the planning of blended service music with the Director of Music.
6. Ability to work in partnership with professional staff and volunteers to facilitate worship and music programs.
7. Prepare an annual report detailing the current condition of the musical instruments and equipment and specify necessary maintenance.
Qualifications:
1. Knowledge and strong emphasis on current Contemporary Christian music.
2. Musical training in piano/keyboard
3. Good communication skills
4. Prior experience as a church musician involving current Contemporary Christian music, preferred, but not required.
5. Ability to work in a team ministry environment
6. Ability to sing, play other musical instruments (optional)
7. Ability to create and foster a music program that draws our congregation into worship and helps Spirit of Grace grow in numbers and enthusiasm.
